WHAT TO CALL SUCH PERSONS?

Some time ago I had written a post on annoying driving ways of some persons whom I called Educated Illiterates. Recently I came across some more which I wish to bring to your knowledge.

Stopping vehicles blocking zebra crossing fully on the traffic light making those on foot to walk zig zag to cross road when it is their turn to do so.

Parking vehicles on footpath blocking way for pedestrians.

What should we call such persons? Educated illiterates seems to be a very mild term.

PS : This is my first post from laptop bought for me by our son.

May be Uneducated drivers...it shall be one's own consciousness to give way to the pedestrians plays major role.

New Lapi?.. grt gift frm ur son..:) good to know that...

First congrats on the new laptop, how sweet of your son! Enjoy the lappie! :)

Second I totally think that this is our condition...drivers all educated with maximum number of degrees but minimum sense in the head!

SAD STATE.

How true this post was. Loved it.

I think its more to do with negligence and 'who-cares' attitude. We take things for granted here in India. We think its our right to park cars wherever we want and we break every traffic rule and expect to get away with it. Educated illiterates is indeed a very mild term.

The same 'educated illiterate' when driving abroad will make sure he follows all traffic rules 'coz there he'll be fined or lose points or his license will be revoked. Why the sudden attitude change? Because nobody punishes us here if we break rules. So what if you are caught without a license or riding triples or park in a no-parking zone. All you do is bribe the cop and sweet talk your way out of it.

So yeah, both laws and people's attitude need to change and become more strict.

p.s - Enjoy your new laptop!

Should we call them 'brainless animals'?

Because,at least animals have enough
brains than such type of shameless persons.

If it was only commercial vehicle drivers one may say so but what about those driving latest high end cars too? He insisted to buy even when I told him I am comfortable with PC. Take care

SONSHU :

I am trying to get hang of it. It is one of those small ones. But I use mouse as I am still not used to inbuilt one. Degrees do not make a person civil and mostly it goes to one's head. Take care

TGAFA :

I agree with you. We need to have strict enforcement of rules but would the police be able to? I am getting used to it. Take care

RAKESH :

I would not say that as animals may take it as insult. I have already made a short visit to your space but felt that I need to spend time in peace to read as what you write is something which I love to read. Take care

I totally agree with 'the girl at first avenue'. This is the sad state of India. Wish we could instill in them some sense, hypocrites!
Btw i want to thank you so much for taking out the time to read all my poems:)

TANVI :

Thanks, I hope I do get the hang of it soon. It is small one so our 3 1/2 years old granddaughter has stacked her claim on it. She was playing game on this, ousting me. Take care

SOLITAIRE :

Scary is not the word. Can you suggest something even more? Thanks. Take care

Jack said...

SOUMYA :

Thanks. Hope I can get the hang of it before our granddaughter makes fun of me. A little while ago she ousted me to play games and I was out of the room. When she got tired she just closed it disconnecting mouse as well as power cable. She is just 3 1/2. Take care

FELICITY :

It is BEAUTIFUL. I loved it. I will get back to you soon. Take care

ALKA :

You really hit the nail on head. So right. Thanks and at my age it will be a wonder when I start using it regularly. Take care

FURREE :

Won't that be too mild a term? I would not like to use popular slang but that may be more appropriate. Thanks. Take care

Jack said...

TARUNIMA :

While I was replying to others your views came up. Thanks for your visit inspite of being busy. She made a very appropriate statement. I hope I can visit you often and read real good poems. Take care

Best gift from the son to father. Congratulations.

Such people can probably be called as stupid. And this type of care-free attitude is only applicable in Delhi. It doesn't happen in Mumbai, and all the other metropolitans.

P.S- No visits?

Suruchi said...

many congratulations on the laptop..yiy, yiy, yiy:-)

and just call them some good "beep" words;-)

Hello Jack,

Congrats on your new technology acquisition..hope to read now even more from you. Let not this joyous moment be dampened by these uncivilized idiots. I feel the complacency of the traffic police is to be blamed till certain extent.

Anyways happy blogging. Haven't seen you around in my space for quite sometime?

SURUCHI :

BEEP words, you mean all those..... . But that will only raise own BP. Or may be release pent up anger. I too am so happy to receive this one. Take care

T-fL :

Yes, it is a jump upwards. Hope I can learn to operate properly soon. I agree this is complacency on the part of our police. Hope things improve. I know I have been little lazy apart from being little tied up too. Hope to be there soon, may be today. Take care

Sh@s said...

Congrats on your new laptop. I often use this term for such kind of people. Call them by whatever name you want to but will that educate them or make them realize their folly.

Live2cherish said...

i would call them crack heads :P.
yay! for your new lappy.Which one is it?

Jack said...

RIA :

Thanks. It is so sad but something needs to be done. May be authorities have to become strict. Take care

SH@S :

Thanks. What term do you use for such persons? I know calling them any name will not change them unless authorities become strict. Take care

DISHITA :

Why all them that instead of cracking their head? It is Lenovo IdeaPad S100. Take care

Jigyasa said...

Wow new laptop......Congrats Uncle J:)

Name for these reckless drivers....cud be Crack Heads!

Gayu said...

New lappi:)....sahi....congrats:)

Every year the number of cars are increasing and the condition of the roads...they are pathetic...and the drivers...they...no words....

Jyoti Mishra said...

Congratulations 4 the new lappy :)
and those people are nothing but people with shit in their brains.
Tragedy is the density of such people is reaching new heights every day :(

Jack said...

JIGYASA :

Thanks. Instead of just calling them that why not crack their heads? Take care

GAYU :

Thanks. I know that is the main problem but should we not take stern action against such offenders? Take care

JYOTI :

Thanks. I think they have nothing up there, it is just blank. I think Transport Authorities should start with compulsory classes on road discipline and manners before issuing or renewing driving licence. Take care

Congratulations on the new laptop. That was really sweet of your son :)

Yes these people are horrible.

With all the steep roads in Bangalore, it just gets worse.

Educated illiterates is a good term, but like you said, very mild.
My fried's dog got run over by a jeep yesterday.
A police jeep.

Chakoli said...

I would agree to what u say but I cud also see some chnage in attitude of people may be as people are now more frequent in going abroad.... they stop to allow pedestratians to cross the road.... try to stop before the zebra crossing.... and many more... but yeah for a comaplete chnage it wud take time!

Erratic Thoughts said...

Oh Congratulations for your laptop :)
And yes, I've faced some similar problems and been accidently(as they say it!) hit by one of them as well...Since my accident,I've been vechile-phobic!

Jack said...

HARINI :

Thanks. Hope this kind of situation does change for better, may be with little strictness from authorities. I am sorry about the dog. Take care

CHAKOLI :

Thanks.I am so glad to see you here. I do hope and pray that such change as you told takes place, may be slow but positive. Take care

E T :

Welcome to my space. Hope you read some of older posts too. Thanks. Hope you are fully fit now and that accident did not leave any permanent scar. Please do not be afraid as it is said one must be mentally brave to get back to normal life. Take care

Thinking said...

hmm...do you know most of them have ever read the ROAD SIGNS book before passing their driving tests?

We all are responsible for such drivers...

Letting our sixteen year old drive a car...let the people who never read the road signs book pass the driving test and bribing the traffic police man to pass us when we croos the red lights...

hmmm...there is nothing stopping us now...

Jack said...

THINKING :

You brought out the malady so clearly. It is we who are to be blamed as we let such things happen. These days I request such persons to kindly leave zebra crossing for pedestrians.

Take care
