UPLIFTMENT OF BACKWARD CLASS?

A park housing statues costing Rs 685 crores! Spread over 85 acres+ of fertile land, if I am not mistaken. Isn’t it false EGO?

With that money I could have opened 12 schools, self reliant to sustain running to provide free quality education with text books & stationary to children from economical backward class for years and years to come. Won’t that have been a better tribute to those who’s statues have been erected which will wither away for lack of care in few years if not destroyed earlier by someone?

What a beautiful, wonderful thought.

Such people need to be voices of our country.

I completely agree. Pains to see so many children who want to study but are unable to.

Missed reading your thoughtful and thought provoking posts. :)

If only the other people thought this way :)

Short post. Yet very true :)

@ your comment: Yes, my stories are pure fiction :)

YES, this Park work is most incomprhensible..it is got to be an egotism of "Look it's my turn now, Enough of you people's landlord-ness.. I am the new one". Like the muoughals left behind Taj Majal, the Brahmins with Temples, the Kshtriyas with Durg and Kila, the Harijan Dynasty will leave a leagcy of Stone Park..the Sandstone-Provincial Park.

Rs 685 Coror !!!!

Very well said. I was thinking the same few days back with probably less substance with me at the moment. But eating at lavish resturants and buying un necessary clothes can be cut down too. i hope this though is dipped in our mind sooner.

Dear Uncle jack! i hope you are doing good and enjoying a healthy and pleasant life. TC

I can't reemphasize the damage we are doing to our resources by building monuments and statues. With time, they all become pigeon house.
so glad you wrote about it.

How I wish we can do something to change such wastages! Take care

SULAGNA :

I agree but can we uplift masses by not spending on ourselves? We should not do it just for show off but on real needs, having dinner out on some special occasions is not at all wrong. However we could do our bit for progress of those who need it. You may sponsor a child for education, may be of your maid or that sweeper. Take care

SAKSHI :

Time to change our thoughts, isn't it? Take care

HUMAIRA :

We should not spend just to show off but for what our needs are. As I told Sulagna above about it. We can do our bit by doing something for the society, if not money we may give time for some improvement of those who are in need.

I am fine and will be visiting you soon. Take care

L 2 C :

How true! But in lighter vein pigeons will have some place to live at least and give those who put up their statues a coating of what they did. Take care

It hurts, isn't it? Take care
