D I L

Acronym as per Oxford Dictionary means - a word formed from the first letters of other words. That would mean Daughter in law would be Dil. DIL is Hindi word for heart. So how come more often than not a daughter in law is not treated as DIL of a family? My thinking is that as we take care of our HEART to keep our body healthy, why should we not take care of DIL too to have a healthy peaceful family? Of course, she too should not function erratically.

Wow!!!!!! What a thought....if only all the families would think like you...there would be so much peace and love around.

Both MIL and DIL should understand that there are going to be times when their thoughts won't match, there will be small trifts...but they should adopt an attitude of "Raat gayi Baat gayi".

They should leave the grudges and look beyond the imperfections.

I loved this thought!!!!

Great thoughts here. I am getting married next month and am proud to say that my in-laws give me all the love and pampering they give to their own daughter. In fact even she treats me with so much love and care :)

So true.
I've always wondered why they MIL and DIL don't get along.
But then again, its not only because the family doesn't want to accept her as their own, its also cos she wouldn't be ready to accept the family as hers.

Jack said...

H G L :

You are right. It takes two to tango. She too has to reciprocate and accept new family as her own. Take care
