PRE-MATURE RETIREMENT

I read in newspaper some time ago that government is mulling of making pre-mature retirement rules for Defence personnel vis-a-vis OROP. It was stated that those who seek PMR on being superseded will need to serve for another 3 years after being passed over for promotion to be entitled for pension while seeking PMR. I am surprised at this thinking. Any sane person will realise that those who seek PMR after being superseded will have no interest in their work. So the government will be saddled with frustrated lot who will be spoke in the running of administration at desired level. Those who continue at their own, will work even harder as they will be looking forward to promotion.

I think the government should let go those with pension as applicable, who wish to do so after being passed over for promotion.

What is your say?
